Our Sunday School program runs during the school year and consists of two parts: worship and age-appropriate lessons.  Our intergenerational worship services are designed to help children engage in the service and feel welcome as part of the body of Christ.  The age-appropriate lessons range from teaching the bible stories for early elementary children to relating bible stories to current day events in our high school class.

Our Sunday School program begins with the children participating in the first 30 minutes of our worship service.  We believe that in order for the children and youth to feel comfortable worshiping in the sanctuary as an adult, they need to spend time in the sanctuary while they are growing up.  On most Sundays, the children and youth leave the worship service mid-way through. On a few special Sundays throughout the year like Easter, the children and youth remain in the service for the whole hour and do not have separate age-appropriate lessons.

Sunday School classes for Pre-K through High School meet from approximately 10:00 to 10:45am during the school year and are led by caring adults who guide the children and youth in exploring God’s word.

ATTENDANCE/REGISTRATION
Regular attendance at Sunday school is a powerful tool in developing faith and strongly encouraged. However, children are welcome in Sunday school regardless of how often they are able to attend. Visitors are always welcome. For safety reasons, we ask that parents fill out a separate registration for each child. These will be kept for confidential reference by teachers in case of an emergency. A visitor registration form (available from teachers) must be filled out by a responsible adult before visiting children can be left in the care of the Sunday school staff.

CURRICULUM
We use a variety of curriculum to fit the needs of each age group.  Children ages 4 years old to 4th grade are using “The Whole People of God,” a lectionary-based curriculum that allows the children to explore the scripture readings that adults are hearing in the sanctuary.  The middle school class and the high school class engage their faith with current events using the curriculum called “Living in Christ.”
