The mission of WCUMC’s Task Force on Anti-Racism and Racial Justice is: “To educate and challenge our congregation to address the presence of systemic racism and white privilege within the church and the world-at-large. We will do this within the context of our Christian faith.” Using the resources from UMC’s Vital Conversations on “Religion and Race,” the Task Force works to educate our congregation through book studies, sharing of resources and books, presentations and speakers and engagement in community-wide/inter-faith conversations and programs on anti-racism and racial justice.
